New habitat for frog, safe harbor for East Bay Municipal Utility District (Amador Ledger Dispatch)

An agreement that could increase red-legged frog habitat in Amador County is now signed. East Bay Municipal Utility District will attempt to create new habitat areas for the frog and for two other endangered species on the 28,000 acres it controls in Amador and nearby counties.

Jackson, CA — 69 year old Margaret Dalton, leader of the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians for 30 years, died in her sleep Sunday. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the Jackson Rancheria.
