Friends of Amador County urge supes to treat Buena Vista equally

The Friends of Amador County appealed to the board of supervisors on Tuesday to have county departments treat lands owned by the Buena Vista Band of Me-Wuk Indians as fee land.

A group of volunteers gathered in Jackson to begin planning the 7th annual Amador County Camp Out for Cancer. The event will take place on Sept. 11 and 12 at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. There is still room for new teams to form.

Historical society plans party to celebrate founding date of Amador County

Amador County Historical Society members and the general public are invited to celebrate the founding date of Amador County (June 14, 1854) with a gala picnic on the grounds of the Amador County Museum, 225 Church St., Jackson, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19.

Alleged Rancheria shooter appears in court, local parents meet new gang task force

The suspected triggerman in a gang assault that rocked Amador County on March 14 – leaving one teenager with a bullet hole in his face, and another bleeding from the neck – appeared in court on May 27. Later that evening, parents and teens from the community gathered to hear about Amador’s new gang task force.
